Welcome to TAGB Tigers!
TAGB Tigers was first established in Devon in 2001. Tigers classes are based around fun. Sessions are designed to fit around the educational needs of younger children. Our TAGB Tigers classes are for children ages 5-10 years.
What’s it all about?
Well, we will teach and encourage your children about
- RESPECT
- CONFIDENCE
- FITNESS
- FLEXIBILITY
- TEAM WORK
- DISCIPLINE
- FOCUS
- AND HAVING HEAPS OF FUN!
- WE WON’T MAKE GUARANTEES OF YOUR CHILD EATING THEIR CARROTS OR WASHING BEHIND THEIR EARS BUT WE WILL TEACH THEM TAE KWON DO AND THE TENETS THAT GO HAND IN HAND WITH OUR ART
Our classes enhance your childs involvement in the National Curriculum requirements for P.E. and incorporate target setting goals based not only on physical activity but of course on the use of Tae Kwon-Do based fun activities. Your children will be taught in a positive and encouragement based manner, allowing for all ages and abilities.
Not only do children see improvements in their fitness and flexibility through regular participation in TAGB Tigers, but they will also learn how their bodies work and just how important it is to be active. TAGB Tigers classes can be used as an introduction into our mainstream classes as your childs confidence and Tae Kwon-Do skill levels grow or simply as a stand alone fun activity and pass time.
All instructors in North Devon TKD have been trained in the concepts of TAGB Tigers. Our Tigers instructors are Keir Bennett, John Tate and Tilly Porter. John, affectionately known to all as ‘Pops’, has been an instructor with North Devon TKD since 2009.
We follow a strict code of conduct set up by the Government recognised British Tae Kwon-Do Council, all instructors hold an enhanced CRB / Police check certificate and conform to the BTC’s Child Protection Policy.
Our TAGB Tigers martial arts children’s classes are held Wednesday’s in Barnstaple, 4.45-5.45pm, and Thursday’s in Bideford, 6.30-7.30pm.
It costs just £23 per month. With an annual membership fee of £35 (paid yearly) for TAGB membership and licencing.
We have a club uniform specifically for our Tigers class but this is purely optional, however from experience we find that our members enjoy the wearing of a uniform as it helps children to feel that they belong to a group. Uniforms can be ordered in class should you wish your child to have one.
Parents are most welcome to sit in and watch should you wish. In fact we encourage this for the first couple of sessions at least to allow your child to settle in to the new environment.
If you are interested in your child coming along to our Tigers Children’s Class then please contact us to arrange their first session.
