NEW STUDENTS

OK, so how does it work?

1. Please use the ‘CONTACT US’ button, include your name and contact details, and feel free to ask any questions or site hasn’t already answered.

2. In your inquiry please specify which venue and date you would like to come along for your first time. Then we can keep an eye out for you if you’re lost or nervous. And don’t forget you get to try for free of course!

3. If you are under 18 you will need to bring a parent/guardian on the first time as a simple form needs to be filled in for every new starter before you can join in. Very often mums and dads end up joining in to when they see the benefits of TKD.

4. Wear something comfortable, tracksuit and t-shirt is fine. TKD is done bare foot so no need to worry about trendy trainers. Oh and bring a bottle of water too!

5. You don’t have to have a minimum level of fitness, but if you are concerned then simply speak to your GP beforehand. There are many members who will vouch for their lack of fitness or flexibility before they joined TKD compared to how positive they feel today. Not to mention the thousands of calories we have burnt off.

6. Gradings are held every three months for those who are ready to aim for grade promotion. Gradings are not compulsory but everyone seems to want to go for it and get that next belt, even those that simply started to get fit, to get out of the house or just to start a hobby.

7. Try not to be too nervous on your first night, we don’t bite and we ALL started off as beginners. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end, you will be with other beginners and one of the black belt instructors to start you off while your confidence and skills grow.
